Kernan shared how he started his businesses and the skills you need to start a venture.
“The treasures in my life are all mistakes I did, which I should not do again. They are my big lessons.”
The journey
A 1990s kid
A computer nerd since elementary school, when his love of computer games began on the Apple II, watching his cousins play Montezuma’s Revenge, and Contra at home on the family computer. In high school he got his first Intel 80386 computer, and he has been that nerd ever since.
2000s, after graduating from San Beda
Started his professional IT career helping manufacturing companies automate their processes through ERP systems such as Infor and SAP.
2002 onwards
- 2002: TechSupport.Ph was born, focused on keeping small businesses’ IT stable.
- 2009: founded Impextic, a logistics company.
- 2010: went full time.
- 2020: during the pandemic, started OneOffice to manage time and attendance for payroll for his 100+ employees. It grew to serve customers locally and globally.
- 2020: started TechSupport One for the international market.
Today Kernan is still that computer nerd, but his companies have served 1,500+ IT customers, supporting 3,000+ sites and thousands of computers worldwide, and moved goods for 400+ logistics customers across the Philippines.
In The Manila Times
Kernan shared his successes, failures and survival: how it started, how he almost closed shop, and how he moved on to greater challenges.
